After a ten-year renovation, the museum was reopened in 2013 by Queen Beatrix. Notable painters such as Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen, and Rembrandt van Rijn are featured among the 2,000 paintings from the Dutch Golden Age in the Rijksmuseum.
